SUMMARY
Reflection
Upon reflection, I was able to coordinate a successful donation drive between the First Baptist Church and Presbyterian Church in Farmville, North Carolina. The supplies that were donated will be used to welcome families in Lumberton, NC, back into their rebuilt homes that were damaged by hurricane years ago. I am very proud of the positive impact I was able to have and am extremely grateful to my senior pastor and church family. Without their support, this project would not have happened.
Project Impact
The donation drive for families in Lumberton, whose homes were rebuilt after being damaged by hurricane years ago, had a positive impact on the community. By collecting essential household supplies, such as cleaning supplies, baby supplies, and items to provide comfort (blankets), we helped welcome these families into their newly restored homes with comfort and dignity.
The donations we received will be effectively distributed to the families most in need and will provide them with the support they need to start this next chapter of their lives. The supplies will help to meet their material needs, but will also provide them with emotional support to remind them that their communities stand by their side during times of difficulty.
Overall, the Lumberton donation drive highlighted the resilience and generosity of community. The collective action we were able to take will make a real difference in the lives of those who were affected by past hurricanes.
PROJECTS TASKS

Page Week
10.00 hours participating in an awareness event | Connectedness
In the North Carolina Governor’s Page Program, we receive many presentations from officials in state government agencies about the work they do and what they plan to do in the future. We have the opportunity to tour state government buildings and learn the history behind them, while exploring the places where the decisions that impact our lives are made. We also get to develop a policy proposal on behalf of a state government department to address one of their needs and come up with a service project to address a need within our local community.

Project Planning
4.00 hours leading an initiative | Compassion
North Carolina Baptist partners with an organization in Lumberton, NC, called Lumberton Rebuild that works to rebuild damaged homes by hurricanes from years ago. They are in need of supplies to welcome the impacted families into their rebuilt homes. I met with the senior pastors of five churches in my hometown of Farmville, NC, and we have all agreed to coordinate a donation drive to raise these supplies. The donation drive is set to run through Sunday, October 20.

We were able to coordinate a successful donation drive between the Farmville First Baptist Church and Presbyterian Church. Though I wish we could’ve had more churches involved, I was very pleased with the outcome of the project. We were able to collect a lot of supplies that I personally delivered to families in need in Lumberton, NC.
