SUMMARY
Reflection
I decided to focus on assembling blessing bags because I believe everyone deserves access to basic necessities like toiletries and hygiene products. Participating in the meeting was incredibly rewarding. Working alongside others to create these care packages fostered a strong sense of community and purpose. I learned the importance of collaboration and the profound impact even small gestures can have on individuals facing hardship.
Project Impact
We packed over 170 blessing bags, beating our goal of 128 from the prior year. Over 100 donations came in from a total of 75 volunteers who helped pack and write notes from people experiencing homelessness.

Page Week
10.00 hours attending a meeting | Connectedness
I met the Governor and discussed my life goals with him. He encouraged us to vote and register to vote. We also learned more about the executive branch.

Project Planning
4.00 hours leading an initiative | Compassion
Planning a blessing bag meeting involves several key steps: 1. Determine your goal and target number of bags. Consider your community's needs and what resources you can realistically gather. 2. Schedule a date, time, and location. Parks, libraries, or community centers make good gathering spaces. 3. Decide on the items for the bags. Focus on essentials like non-perishable food, hygiene products, socks, and water bottles. 4. Spread the word. Promote the event through social media, flyers, or local organizations. 5. Prepare for the meeting. Gather supplies, set up an assembly line, and create a welcoming environment for volunteers to assemble the blessing bags.

Do the Project
10.00 hours leading an initiative | Compassion
The blessing bags meeting was an opportunity for individuals to come together and assemble care packages filled with essential items like food, toiletries, and hygiene products. These bags were then distributed to those in need within the community, offering a small token of support and kindness. The meeting involved discussions about the types of items to include, fundraising efforts for supplies, and planning for distribution methods. It's a chance to combine your efforts and resources to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We made a total of 170 bags, beating our goal from last year.

The room buzzed with a quiet energy as volunteers gathered around the table, their hands working in unison. Each bag, soon to be a beacon of care, was carefully filled with essential items. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of purpose and compassion, a shared desire to offer a small comfort to those facing hardship. Conversations flowed, not just about logistics, but also about the stories behind the recipients, reminding everyone of the humanity behind the cause. As the meeting came to a close, a sense of satisfaction and connection lingered, a testament to the collective effort of making a difference, one blessing bag at a time.
