At Horizon summer camp, each camper is assigned a one-on-one attendant. The camp attendant is responsible for assisting the camper with their daily needs and helping the camper enjoy the camp activities.
Anyone 16 years or older, who is able to donate a week of their time and energy is welcome to apply to be a camp attendant. Volunteers under 18 years of age are required to have the consent of an adult or legal guardian.
No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to help. All new camp volunteers will attend an orientation session, held prior to camp, to prepare you for camp. Topics include expectations of volunteers and participants (campers), roles & responsibilities at camp, daily routine, rules & regulations, etc.
Once you are at camp, you will be assigned a team leader who will provide a more detailed orientation.
