    SUMMARY
    Reflection
Through this project, I learned that many juveniles engage in criminal activity largely due to a lack of support systems and accessible resources, particularly in immigrant and low-income communities. By spreading awareness and providing information, I realized that sharing these resources can make a real difference in reducing juvenile delinquency. This experience showed me that community-driven initiatives can address these gaps, empowering individuals and helping to create a safer, more informed community.
    Project Impact
I gathered feedback from participants in my comunity, who shared that the resources I provided were helpful and relevant. Several attendees expressed a newfound awareness of their rights and community support resources, which reinforced that I had made a positive impact. Additionally, the lecture was provided both in English and Russian, as many of the Slavs were Russian speaking people, which ensured that all participants fully grasped the information. The positive feedback, along with the active participation and follow-up questions I received about various punishments for different offenses , indicate meaningful progress toward my goal of fostering legal literacy and community connectedness.
    PROJECTS TASKS
    Page Week
10.00 hours participating in a workshop | Integrity
Participating in the Governor's Page Program was an incredible experience that allowed me to meet wonderful people from various government departments. I had the opportunity to engage with professionals from various departments, which broadened my understanding of how different sectors of government function. However, my favorite part was learning about the Department of Public Safety. This department resonated with me the most, and I've decided to focus my service project in this field. We also learned about the responsibilities and daily tasks of these leaders, which was very enlightening and inspiring. Overall, I really enjoyed every aspect of the program!!
    Project Planning
17.00 hours leading an initiative | Compassion
As I got ready to dive into my research on why juvenile delinquency is so high, I knew I needed to gather a lot of information. I started by looking into the teen court system and understanding how it works. Volunteering in the court gave me a front-row seat to see what happens when young people get involved in the legal system. I talked to a bunch of child offenders to hear their stories and understand what led them there. It was really eye-opening to hear how many of them didn’t realize the consequences of their actions. I also reached out to judges and court staff to get their take on the issues driving juvenile delinquency. All these conversations and experiences helped me see the bigger picture and the challenges these teens face. It made me realize how important it is to push for more awareness and support for young people, so they can make better choices and avoid trouble in the future.
    Publicity
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Connectedness
This is a poster I created and printed to share information about my legal literacy presentation event. I distributed it throughout my neighborhood and local community, where many Slavic families live, to ensure everyone had access to the event details. The poster included information on the topics I’d be covering, such as personal rights, youth crime consequences, community support resources, and the importance of staying informed.
    Do the Project
10.00 hours leading an initiative | Connectedness
In this photo, I am hosting a gathering at my home, where I presented a project on the importance of legal literacy to my local Slavic community. During the event, I shared essential resources about understanding personal rights and discussed the potential consequences of crimes at a young age. I emphasized the importance of community support and connected attendees with further resources on where to learn about legal protections, rights, and local support networks.
    Project Outcomes & Reflection
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Respect
After hosting my legal literacy presentation for my local Slavic community, I’m taking a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together. This event aimed to empower attendees with knowledge about their rights, the importance of understanding the legal system, and the impact of crime at a young age. The turnout and engagement from the community confirmed that I successfully reached and supported my target group. The photo below is dedicated to all the people in the governors page program who motivated me to keep doing all of this, and to not give up and to go through with my project. (I’m sorry i did not submit this within the 2 weeks after completing my project, I didn’t notice that part up until now)
