Sam Mitchell has autism and runs his own podcast called, Autism Rocks and Rolls. He was diagnosed at the age of 4, and today at 20 years old, is a well-known podcaster, entrepreneur, writer, podcast coach, international public speaker, TEDX Speaker, and Executive Director of Autism Rocks and Rolls NonProfit 501c3. His official Website is autismrocksandrolls.com. Sam was only 16-years-old when he joined his high school’s media club. He came home to his parents and announced that he was going to start a podcast. For his birthday, he was given a small sound bar, one microphone, and used his old PC he had had for quite awhile. He only had $70 in a PayPal account and this is where his adventure began. His podcast started as a hobby and his parents were simply happy that he had found something he loved because his high school years had been tough being on the autism spectrum. After a short time, his podcast exploded and resonated with parents, people on the spectrum, and even celebrities. Following that and after lots of late nights, hard work, and building his podcast, Autism Rocks and Rolls Corporation 501c3 was started and is booming today. ARAR Corp has 7 Corporate Board members and Sam is now on their payroll. Through the nonprofit, Sam is still a podcaster, international motivational speaker and plans local events to spread autism acceptance and to spread the mission, those on the autism spectrum are successful often because they have autism. Sam loves to spread his message to take that leap and go for it. With passion, hard work, and a mission, beautiful things are possible. Sam has a mission and would like to educate people on the following: That we should de-stigmatize autism and show that people on the spectrum are not broken, therefore, embracing autism. He would like to help teachers, parents, and employers understand that we must tap into people’s abilities and focus on what people CAN do. Sam is not ashamed and wants to be the voice of those with autism or other disabilities. His podcast helped him be successful and is helping him change the world just a little bit at a time. He does this using the power of podcasting, speaking, and planning events. Without taking a leap and working very hard at making his podcast and nonprofit take off, he would not be helping all of the people that he is today.
