SUMMARY
Reflection
Doing this project for local service kids opened my eyes to the compassion and willingness to help in my peers. Working with DSS was difficult, but I was able to connect schools (SECHS and West Stokes) to come together for three days for a great cause. The experience really made me appreciate my hardworking, compassionate peers and their capacity to put others before themselves. Everyone worked so hard to create over 100 cards which I delivered to DSS’s office. I am so grateful to have had the support to do this project!
Project Impact
Foster kids are often overlooked during the holidays, and with such a large number of them in Stokes County, I knew it was necessary to send them some extra love this holiday season. Gathering together peers, underclassmen, and even students from other schools to create cards was a very meaningful experience for a great cause. Thanks to our efforts, I was able to deliver over a hundred cards to the Stokes County DSS office in Danbury.
