SUMMARY
Reflection
This project was a culmination of all the time and effort I have spent with my local Veterans. They have helped me in the past with my Eagle Project and I have tried to pay them back the best I can. It was tricky involving everyone from my Boy Scout Troop to my IB and NHS coordinators to get donations together but, in the end I succeeded. I think this experience did much for me not only in learning to coordinate a project of this scale but also it taught me to respect my local community, after this I have become a lot more active in local organizations and overall, this was both wonderful and humbling for me.
Project Impact
30 families fed for Thanksgiving across 5 counties

Do the Project
10.00 hours donating food | Connectedness
I delivered the food I collected to the Chaplain at the Disabled American Veterans, the food will go towards feeding 30-40 veterans and their families during Thanksgiving.

Project Outcomes & Reflection
1.00 hour donating food | Compassion
I received recognition for my help at a ceremony tonight. The food was enough for 30 families across 5 counties and was the largest the chapter ever raised. I am really happy with everything as I managed to raise so much and have begun to work with my Boy Scout troop to continue on the work, I hope a younger scout takes up the cause and organizes a drive next year to continue on support for the Disabled American Veterans. I think this is the culmination of all the work I have done with Veterans and how I have tried to pay them back for the help they have given them. I am very proud overall, and I would like to work with the DAV in the future.
