Silver Cord is a service recognition program for outstanding volunteering (100 hours junior and senior year) during your time at VAHS. Students must attend an informational session, complete a contract, and sign up to be part of the program. Students must be committed by no later than Oct. 31st of junior year. This program is coordinated by a teacher adviser and facilitated by Silver Cord Executive Board members. Any Freshmen or Sophomores who volunteer during high school should keep track of what they are doing and (to make joining and counting hours easier) always get email confirmations that support their service. Only 25 hours of previous high school service can be brought into the program.
