SUMMARY
Reflection
Hosting the Youth in Leadership panel and voter registration drive was a rewarding experience that encouraged civic engagement among a group of young people. The participants were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and actively learning how to register voters. The immediate application of these skills during our voter registration drive at UNC Charlotte was a clear sign of impact, with several students successfully registering. The feedback I received from participants and volunteers confirmed that the event inspired more in-depth knowledge about politics and action among the teens.
Project Impact
Through hosting the Youth in Leadership panel and voter registration drive, I gained experience in encouraging civic engagement among young people. The event led to thoughtful discussions about leadership and politics, and participants were eager to apply what they learned in real-time registering 12 voters at UNC Charlotte's campus. The experience taught me the value of combining education with direct action to make a tangible impact.

Do the Project
10.00 hours leading an initiative | Connectedness
Hosted a Youth in Leadership panel with my friends NC Democratic Party Chair, Anderson Clayton and NC House member-elect Jordan Lopez to encourage a group of young people to get civically engaged and answer questions pertaining to effective and bold leadership. Later, we walked them through a few scenarios of how to approach people when asking them to register to vote, and then we went out on UNC Charlotte's campus and got folks registered.
