Warm up this winter at our brushpile burning event in the Sunrise Unit at Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area, a sanctuary of wetlands, forests & prairies.

Volunteers will haul, stack, and burn piles of the invasive plant, buckthorn.

Bring your own lunch or marshmallows to roast on the fire – you’ll want roasting sticks and buckets or chairs to sit on, too. We will provide the coffee, cocoa, cider, and light snacks.
