For more than 12 years the Family Gym program has been providing its family participants with handouts, activity sheets, and other resources to engage children in healthy living habits in conjunction with providing free physical activity in welcoming environments. Since 2019 we have looked to our volunteers to help revitalize the resources we use to promote cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth in families with children 3-8.
Past examples include: infographics about different foods like apples and beets, teaching students about plants and animals, and creating exercise worksheets to keep our participants' bodies and minds moving and growing each week while they engage in adapting healthy living behaviors.
