Super Saturday classes run for six weeks of Saturdays, three times throughout the school year. This posting if for the fall term, morning class shift. Teen volunteers can choose to be assigned to assist a teacher in the classroom or to work closely with a PAGE Board member or other parent volunteer. Volunteers may sign-up to help with both morning and afternoon classes without an additional application or training.
The program provides leadership training and opportunities to develop leadership skills and confidence throughout the term. Leadership skills include planning, adaptability, communication, team building, and conflict management. Teen volunteers also find the experience rewarding because they get to contribute to a community that appreciates what often separates them from others and to enjoy sharing the love of learning with younger children.
This volunteering experience is a good fit for gifted students, those considering a career in teaching or otherwise enjoy working with children, and those who love learning themselves.
