  • Volunteer to pick up trash on the multi-use/pedestrian trails along the Red River in Fargo and Moorhead. Enjoy an outdoor walk along the river, remove trash and litter, and find a sense of pride and purpose for our community trails!

The greatest threat to the Red River today is from non-point source pollution. Keeping the banks of the Red River litter-free is one way to reduce this threat. This can be a one time or long term commitment. Garbage bags are provided.

Schedule a day and time that works best with your schedule to pick up trash. A group leader will sign an agreement form and schedule a day to pick up garbage bags. Upon completion of the clean up, the group leader will return an evaluation form.

Earth Week Incentive: Restore Moorhead is happening again in partnership with Moorhead Parks and Recreation and their City Beautification Program on April 18-24. Celebrate Earth Week and keep our cities clean. We are trying to get as many sections cleaned up that week as possible, we will have to see what the conditions are like near the Red River, but there are also options to clean up parks in the city (not just near the river), streets and ponds. See attached flyer for more information.
