  • We need assistance at our annual recycling collection event.  The volunteers at this particular station will be collecting and sorting gently-used books to donate to non-profit organizations to be reused again. The volunteers must be willing to unload the books from the cars (as the cars drive through) and place them on a cart to take into the building for sorting.

For a little more background, at this recycling event we also take in electronics, printer cartridges, & Lion's Club Eyeglass collection.  There is also an area to safely destroy documents (which the paper then gets recycled).  Residents can also take a tour of the West Wastewater Treatment Plant and pick up free mulch.

There is no charge for the residents to participate.
  • Transportation Details & Disability Access
Parking is available in the Huntley Library lot (across the street) or in the Shepherd of the Prairie Church lot (next door).

There are restrooms inside the building and light refreshments are provided.

  • Training Required
No training required but the person should be able to life 10 pounds and walk with ease pushing a cart. The person should also dress appropriately for being outside (a canopy tent will be set up).

PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR BEING OUTSIDE.
