  • Volunteers will inspect, sort, and package food that will be distributed to our hungry neighbors. Northern Illinois Food Bank serves over 71,500 people each week across 13 counties through innovative feeding programs and partnerships. Projects can vary, but differing ability levels can be accommodated by contacting a Volunteer Coordinator.

    Shift times:
    Weekdays: Tuesdays at 1:00pm – 3:30pm & Thursdays at 9:00am – 11:30am
    Weeknights: Wednesdays at 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
    Weekends: Saturdays at 9:00am – 11:30am

  • Training Required
    Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and be 8 years or older in order to participate. Volunteers will be given a brief orientation prior to the shift that explains the mission of the food bank and warehouse guidelines.
